In 1981, during his studies, Andreas Peer Kähler founded the German-Nordic Youth Philharmonic, where he continues to serve today as its artistic director, a position in which he has conducted most of the important works of the great symphonic orchestral repertoire like Bruckner, Strauß, Mahler, Prokofjew, Schostakowitch, Sibelius and many others. Apart from his directorial work, he has compiled a large repertory in the field of music education work with the Kammerorchester Unter den Linden – a chamber orchestra he founded in 1990. With this orchestra he started two series of family concerts, »Tiere, Tango und Trompeten« and »Familienkonzerte in Dahlem«. Guest engagements in both conducting and concert hosting as well as composition commissions have taken him to many European countries as well as to Mexico, Australia, Iceland and the United States. Andreas Peer Kähler has established a fruitful collaboration specially with the Beethovenhaus Bonn, the Hamburger Camerata and the Usedomer Musikfestival. In the field of music teaching he works as a presenter, teacher and lecturer for various institutions. According to what is needed in a concert he works as a pianist, conductor, actor or narrator. Also, he organizes training courses in stage presence for musicians and music teachers and gives seminars in conducting for managers.
